I am a 39 year old mom, wife, nurse, runner, and amateur baker! I’ve been running for 20 years (wow, does that make me feel old). I started running in college, but just as a form of exercise, I never really developed a passion for it. I joined the military and was forced to run and then became a lover of all things running ever since. I had done a fair share of half marathons and other races and then took a long 4 year hiatus after having my babies and living in Colorado. Running was extremely tough in Colorado, not easy to run at 7,000 ft above sea level, the air is really thin and the hills are KILLER! I got the running bug back when we moved to the DC area last May and I haven’t looked back. I was in need of some motivation and running partners so I decided to start my very own chapter of a national group called Moms RUN This Town. Best decision I have made in a long time. We have now grown to over 2,000 members. I’ve met so many great people and they all keep me motivated to lace up my running shoes every day (well, maybe not every day). It is such a thrill to help motivate other moms to get out there and run and get back in shape after having babies.
I am also a part time Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse, and amateur baker! I love all things cupcakes, hence my blog name
I hope I can inspire people to get out there and stay healthy and help encourage my children to follow in my footsteps to get out there and stay active! I’ll also throw in some of my baking creations and favorite recipes along the way! Thanks for reading!
