Hey everyone! Long time no talk! I’m a day late and a dollar short on the Weekly Wrap with Tricia and Holly this week. Things have been crazy. This past week was really tough because of Snowzilla that hit us here in the Metro DC area which I’m sure most of you heard of. Long story short? We got whalloped with snow, about 28 inches at our house and the kids were out of school for 7 days. Seriously, not enough wine in the world could have helped with that situation. In fact, my youngest STILL had a 2 hour delay at school yesterday because sidewalks weren’t clear and kids couldn’t walk to school.
So what’s been up these last 2 weeks?
As far as workouts go:
I’ve been working on my “pull ups”. Or should I say I’ve been working on hanging and negative pull ups.
This was the ONE time I’ve done them in the last 2 weeks….so THAT is going well.
Lots of treadmill workouts…
Shoveling was the main part of my workouts last week.

There was a lot of baking…
I had never made pretzels before so decided to try my hand at it. And thank goodness we had stocked up on wine because the wine bottle is a great rolling pin!

We did some organizing in the spice drawer. Very scientific process as you can see.
Drank wine…oh did we ever. There were several days we opened a bottle right after lunch. Thank goodness the hubby was home with us and not on a trip. That would have been a totally different ballgame!
Did the same puzzles OVER and OVER and OVER.
We didn’t see a plow on our street until 6 days after the storm was over. It was quite ridiculous and we ended up shoveling our own street. Don’t get me started on that one.
I totally bombed on Laura’s 21 day reset. I did fine the first few days and then my one slip up led to a downward spiral that I just wasn’t able to come out of. It was really bad, and the snowstorm didn’t make it any better. I drank a LOT and ate a LOT. I’m not sure why people like to eat a lot during snow storms. And it wasn’t good food. It was tons of sugar and junk and wine. Now I really need a detox.
Half marathon training is going, but not very well.
I’ll be honest. I’m not feeling it.
I’m just kind of half ass-ing my training runs, skipping long runs and just not even caring. This is a first for me.
I’ve lost my mojo before, but NEVER like this. Never.
I’m not really sure why or what to do about it. Even the incentive of getting to put money into a jar isn’t helping. What up with that?!
Stress of potential big changes? GRE stress?
Not really sure. Usually when I get stressed I want to run more!
I guess I’ll do my best to wing it for now. I know I can do the distance, I just won’t PR like I had originally hoped.
Hopefully something gives a little. I’m betting when this whole GRE is over I will be able to relax a bit more. Funny thing is the half marathon is two days AFTER I take the exam! It’s a racecation for 2 nights, so hellllloooo par-tay time and a great way to celebrate!
