Happy Friday everyone! Whoa, two posts in one week! Not that I really have time for this right now (I’m using my study time…shhhh, don’t tell) but I haven’t linked up with Courtney, Mar and Cynthia in ages, and since it’s Friday Favorites, I thought I would share some of the things that I can’t get enough of right now!
I am very picky about texture when it comes to food. That means I don’t like avocado, bananas, runny eggs, or most squash (except for spaghetti squash). I know, it’s really weird. I see all of these recipes for overnight oats and they look so good, but I know the texture wouldn’t be right for me. So this is my version and I would seriously eat it every day if I could. I literally let my oats sit in hot water for about 30 seconds. Just enough time to soften just ever so slightly. while avoiding the mush. Add in raspberries, chocolate chips and almond butter and oh-em-gee….it’s like I died and went to heaven.
I talked about these briefly in my post on Wednesday, but I can’t say enough great things about them. I love my shoes to have cushion, but it’s hard to find a cushioned shoe that is light enough for speedwork. Sometimes my Nimbus’ just feel a bit clunky when I’m really trying to push the pace. I had been hearing a lot about the FuseX, so I decided to give them a shot. You never know when you try a new shoe, but I figured since it was Asics and it was still a neutral shoe that I would give it a try. I used a gift card and my VIP rewards at Road Runner Sports to get them since I get 90 days to try them and return if I don’t like. So far they have been great. Super responsive, cushioned and cute too! They only had one color available at the store, but there are so many awesome color combos online!
Teavana Passion Tango Tea
Since I started studying for the GRE I’ve been going to Starbucks to study. I have way too many distractions at home even when the kids are at school. I will even stoop so low as to clean a bathroom to get away from studying, so I have to get out. Cleaning the bathroom is just not acceptable. I’m not a coffee drinker so I started drinking tea. The Teavana Passion Tango tea is TO.DIE.FOR., that is if you like a tea that is fruity and floral and it doesn’t even need any sweetener! I started drinking it hot, and now I ask for it iced but it is great both ways.
I even went to the Teavana store to buy the loose leaf tea so I could brew it on my own. OBSESSED. And can we just talk about this bag?! I think it speaks for itself. I want to use it as a purse. LOL.
Garmin Vivofit 2
A while back I tried out the Fitbit Charge activity tracker, and while I liked it, I decided that I didn’t really have a need for it. I was in marathon training and I KNEW I was getting all of my steps in. Another thing I didn’t like about it was that I would forget to charge it and then the battery would die and I would have to find the charger, and yada yada…I returned it. Well, a few months ago I read Jill and Angela’s review of the Garmin Vivofit and was intrigued by it. Yes, I was getting sucked into the activity tracker again, but this time I had a reason to want it. This is when our sleep was really bad with Mini #2 and I wanted a way to really track how many times a night I was getting up. So I decided to bite the bullet and I bought a refurbished one on Amazon. (affiliate link) What I liked about the Vivofit was that it doesn’t need to be charged!! It can last a year on the battery it has and then it’s just a simple battery replacement that you can find at any drugstore. SOLD. I never take this thing off now.
Oiselle Aero capris
I have been eyeing the Oiselle line for a while now but never pulled the trigger because I didn’t really know what size I was. Well after the holidays I had a little extra holiday cash so I decided to try out a few things per the suggestions of Courtney, Tara and Allie and they did NOT let me down. I love all of the items I got, but these Aero Capris? I wear them all of the time. I can’t lie, I like them so much that I may even wear them several times between washes…shhhh, don’t tell. Kinda gross, but have you ever had a pair of pants that you just felt great and confident in? Well these are them. High waisted to keep all of that loose mom belly skin in place and seams that flatter in all the right places. I keep checking for new colors to come out. They are price comparable to a pair of Athleta or Lululemon capris. In fact they may even be cheaper than Lululemon for the win!
Well, there you have it! The things I am using practically every day. It’s hard to narrow my favorites down to 5! I hope ya’ll have a great weekend! If you need me I’ll be at Starbucks studying! Cheers!Check out @suzy399 and her Friday Favorites! @garmin @oiselle @teavana @asics Click To Tweet
