Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! I kind of feel like I’ve dropped off the face of the earth these last few weeks…actually since Marine Corp Marathon. I’ve kind of lost my writing mojo and to be honest, my inspiration. Since I’m not in the throws of any training I’ve been worried that I may bore ya’ll with my lack of running! In fact I’ve only done a few short runs here and there, nothing really exciting to talk about! I’m hoping that once the chaos of the holidays are over I’ll get my creative juices flowing again and be back in full force! In the meantime, I’m going to have a few great guest posters taking over the blog for the next few weeks so I can have some time to breathe with the big holiday coming up! Some good stuff to come from Nat, Wendy and Heidi so stay tuned!
Ultimate treadmill workout Week 1 day 2. I started using this new book to try and change things up. I’ll have a full review coming soon, but I’m liking the challenge of hill and sprint intervals in an effort to shock my body out of the routine of long distance running.
Mini #2’s 4th Birthday! I spent most of the day working on his birthday cake. He begged for a Star Wars cake so how could I say no. It was definitely not my best work as I had to rush through it, but he didn’t know the difference. My perfectionist side was screaming inside but Mini #1 reassured me that not everything has to be perfect (ahhh, he does listen to what I say. Do as I say son, not as I do, lol).
After dinner and cake I promised my BRF that I would do a tempo run with her. We decided to hit the treadmill for 5 miles at 8pm…uggh…it was supposed to be tempo but it was rough. I’m not used to working out after dinner and felt horrible ingestion. No more evening workouts for me.
Upper body fix and Brazilian butt lift. I am in no way affiliated with Beachbody but I’m obsessed with their DVD’s. I’ve decided that I’m cancelling my gym membership so I’ve been relying on these a lot. I like the accountability of doing a DVD vs doing a random workout. I’ve finally decided to cancel my membership because I don’t really need it any more. With the kids in school, I don’t really need the childcare and I’ve accumulated enough gym equipment that I can work out at home! I am going to miss the class opportunities though, so I may have to think of some other options.
Ultimate Treadmill Workout Week 1-day 3
Ah yes, the annual Ugly Sweater party. We were bored with sweaters so decided to take it up a notch. Isn’t this the Best suit EVER? It’s so hideous it’s glorious isn’t it?
I’ve also been participating in the #RunStrongChallenge with Kinetic Revolution on Instagram. It’s a great challenge to help runners work on strength, mobility, stability and core to build us into stronger, injury free runners. The challenge involves 2 exercises per day to work on these areas. I’ve been following along and the exercises are challenging, but soooo good! I highly recommend you check it out!
