I’ve seen so many A day in the Life posts and I always seem to be behind the 8 ball on this one so I always miss them. Well, not this time, I’m on it and linking up with Katie from Mom’s Little Running Buddy! And I thought it would be a fun way for ya’ll to really see what goes on at my house on a daily basis. This is pretty typical of what our days look like with a few exceptions, but I think you get the point….so here goes
A Day In the Life of a busy stay at home mom.
My day starts early people! So get ready!
4am YES, that says 4AM……up with Mini #1…apparently he wanted to “cuddle”
430 am up with Mini #1….apparently his 1st wake up was because he had to go pee, but didnt. Then he wet the bed. Up stripping bed and digging blankets out of the closet because I didn’t have any clean sheets
5am Mini #2 up.
515 Minis up playing legos in Mini #1’s room.
530 Mini #2 stomping feet in my room demanding to get dressed because apparently he needs my help (but he really doesn’t, he knows how to do it on his own)
545 I roll myself out of bed to break up the fist fight in Mini #1’s room and realize there is no way I’m getting back to bed. So I get up.
550 go to put Mini’s sheets in the laundry and realize there is stuff in the dryer and the washer….ugggh.
615 Begrudgingly go downstairs
630 check email, work on blog stuff
700 make smoothie
730 Fold laundry
800 get myself dressed
815 get snacks ready for boys in anticipation of running errands
816 Have a talk with boys about taking pictures of their naked butts with their Leap pads (I kid you not…..).
830 Take my vitamins. I’ve been using Enduropacks and will have a full review coming soon!
835 head to grocery store–constantly battle this guy as he tries to get out of cart. You can tell….he’s NOT happy.
1000 Snack time! My favorite mid-morning snack and I’m totally obesessed with this flavor!
1015 Costco…typical shenanigans. Seriously….I have no idea how I ever get anything done. Oh wait….I don’t.
1043 A bag of cheese and crackers gets thrown at me while driving, followed by a shoe from the back seat. Mini #2 got in BIG trouble. Screw the terrible 2’s. 3 is WAY worse.
1100 Unload groceries
1130 Time for an energy drink. I’m not typically an energy drink kind of person, but this is an herb blend and Vitamin B12 that my coach reccomended. I recently had some labwork done which revealed that my folate levels are high, so Vit B12 will help with the absorption of the excess folate.
1135 Chat with coach about upcoming week of workouts
1145 Agonize about all of the laundry…..and that wasn’t the half of it!
1200 Supervise as boys play baseball in the garage.
1215 Lunch: I had left over sloppy joe’s from the Runner’s World Cookbook mixed with some leftover Freekah…yumm
1300 Take Mini #1 for hair cut
1400 Snack and watch boys play baseball….AGAIN. I really just play mediator between both boys and end up breaking up 3 fist fights…..Mini #2 usually wins.
1500 Decide to split the boys up or else I would have started drinking…
But nope….instead I head to the pool with Mini #2, while Mini #1 stays home with dad. It’s actually quite enjoyable when they are separated.
1700 Come home from pool and get Mini dressed. Then proceed to tell him why it’s a bad idea to put stickers on your penis. Seriously? I can’t make this stuff up. My kids are clearly going to be the life of the party.
1730 Make dinner for Mini #2. Mini #1 and Mr. Cupcake head out to Washington Nationals game. I make an Isagenix shake. I forgot to take anything out for dinner and it’s the only thing available. I don’t usually drink two shakes a day, but it was there and convenient.
1800 Finally get my workout in. 30 minutes on the treadmill while Mini watches TV. It’s days like these which remind me WHY I bought my treadmill!
1845 Get Mini ready for bed.
1900 Read Curious George book to Mini
1915 Lights out.
1920 Mini is out of bed to pee
1925 Mini out of bed to find stuffed dog
1930 Mini out of bed to get sip of water
1935 Mini out of bed to pee again
1940 Mini out of bed to whine about wanting daddy. I go and lay down with him and cuddle.
2000-2130 Go downstairs to clean up kitchen, play area, living room, finish laundry
2130 Turn on the Nationals game so I can refer to it when I talk to Mini #1 in the morning.
2200 Collapse on bed.
Well, there you have it and holy crap I’m exhausted just reading it. Pardon my military time, in the medical field that is all we use. Feel free to link up your Day in the Life posts!
What is that ONE burning question you want to ask me about my day?
Does this look similar to your days?
