Hey everyone! I’m trying something new this week. I’ve had a few products to review in my queue and thought I might try a link-up to tell you all about them! So I’m joining Sara from The Lakeshore Runner for Tried it Tuesday!
I was recently asked to try a new product called The Runner’s Choice. It is an essential oil blend specifically for sore, tired muscles of your feet. I’ve jumped on the essential oil train since being sick over the holidays and I’m definitely a believer now. I’ve tried some great combos that really helped me with congestion, general immunity support and muscle soreness, so I was excited to try this blend out. I currently use Doterra so if you have any questions about my home remedies let me know.
Runner’s choice is an oil blend designed for people that are on their feet all of the time or that run 3 miles or more at a time. Yep, as a busy mom of two little boys, I very rarely sit down. As a nurse I never sit down. And as a runner, well….running upwards of 26.2 miles, I guess you could say I’m on my feet ALL OF THE TIME. Gosh, that’s exhausting just thinking about it. My feet are always tired and achy. I’m a big fan of a good pedicure or my foot roller to help as well, but this is a great addition.
Runner’s choice is made with 100% natural botanical oils of almond, eucalyptus, eucalytol, wintergreen, peppermint and spearmint. The oils are directly absorbed into the pores of the skin with a simple application. No rubbing involved.
I tested it out and applied it to my feet before my runs and after and also before a 12 hour shift at work…the times where I really notice my tired feet. As I said, I already use oils and they have worked great for me and this was no different. My tired feet don’t feel so tired after applying this.
This has become a part of my daily routine!! And it definitely has helped with the aches!
Super excited because Trusted Health Products would like to give 3 lucky winners a bottle!! And if you don’t win, they are giving away a free bottle to all of you as well, all you have to do is pay the shipping and handling, valued at $7.95. Just go HERE to claim your free bottle!
Next up are Nugo Slim bars. Have you ever heard of them? I hadn’t until I tried them and of course I now I see them everywhere in the grocery store or health food store!
So listen, I’m not a nutritionist, nor do I claim to be one on tv, but I do know that there are good protein bars out there and bad ones. Protein bars should definitely not be replacements for real food but for a busy mom on the go like myself, it’s just not realistic to not have a protein bar on hand. I sometimes need something handy and easy to grab and throw in my purse.
There are some out there that claim to be healthy but when you look at the nutrition facts, it’s loaded with sugars or artificial sweeteners….more like a candy bar. No thank you. I definitely have my favorite protein bars but I’m excited that I can add another one to my list.
I was given the opportunity to try out 3 flavors of the NuGo Slim bars:
- Brownie Crunch
- Roasted Peanut
- Raspberry Truffle
They are ALL dipped in real dark chocolate. Ummm, yea, you had me at dark chocolate. They are gluten free, no artificial sweeteners or maltitol (sugar alcohol). I’ve had bars with those sugar alcohols before and it can cause some serious GI distress and bloating, so I’m happy to stay away from that.
- 15-17 gram of protein
- 7 grams of fiber
- only 2 grams of sugar
Ok, yea, yea, but how do they taste, right? That’s the last important thing.
Well, I was really impressed with the taste. The texture was great with puffed rice thingys (is that a word?) in it to add a little crunch. All three were great, but my favorites were definitely the Raspberry Truffle and Roasted Peanut. I’ve seen them at Whole Foods near me and a few other local grocery stores. If you are in the market for a new bar, definitely check these out if you get a chance!Check out what @suzy399 is loving right now on #triedittuesday with @scranberry33 @NuGoNutrition #giveaway Click To Tweet
So, one last thing. I was going to review my FitBit Charge HR in this post as well, but after thinking long and hard about it and wearing it for a few days, I decided to return it. Allie was totally right. If I’m on the go as much as I say I am…why do I need to track my steps? For goodness sakes, I’m running 30-35 miles per week. I KNOW i’m hitting my goals. Why waste the $150? Thank you Allie for setting me straight and giving me some extra cash to go buy a new outfit for Paris
What is your favorite protein bar?
How do you take care of your tired feet?
