I have been on the hunt for the perfect headphones for a while now. A while ago, I discovered Yurbuds and have really liked them, however the cord is incredibly long. I really find the length of it a nuisance and having to wrap it up a million times to tuck under my tank strap has really become annoying. I’ve looked at wireless headphones, but they have just been too pricey for me. Another thing that has held me back is that I use my Ipod shuffle for my music, which is not bluetooth compatible. My battery life on my phone just sucks so I’ve been apprehensive to use my phone for music during my long runs because well, the runs are LONG and I’d rather have my battery life in case of emergency.
The 1 Voice Headband is “a sports headband with built-in Bluetooth earbuds that stream high quality music from any of your portable devices”.
When my product came in the mail, I was excited to try it out! There were definitely no frills with packaging.
And no insert with directions on how to get it to work, those are printed right on the back of the box, so don’t throw the box away! Although it is pretty self explanatory if you have used bluetooth before.
Here is what is inside…..
Headband: look good and stay dry as the enhanced performance fabric construction helps wick sweat and moisture away from your head keeping you cool.
Earbuds: powerful drivers offer an unbelievable sound quality. While the silicone gel earbud sleeves allow for passive noise isolation, a comfortable fit in your ear and have a built-in microphone for you to take your calls on the go. We also include a backup pair of sleeves.
Bluetooth receiver: wireless range of 30 feet and continuous playback time of 6 to 8 hours.
Ok, so let’s talk about my experience with the product. I was unsure how I would like the headband because I have a hard time finding headbands that don’t slip. This was a standard fabric headband, with none of the velvety lining that is on the non-slip headbands. I also have really sweaty ears, so earbuds tend to fall out easily on me. I was ready to take it out on a short run and give it a shot though! I charged the unit up the night before and then in the morning connected it to the bluetooth on my phone..It was very easy and the bluetooth technology found the device right away.
The headband was really comfortable and surprisingly enough didn’t budge the entire duration of my run which I was really surprised at AND the earbuds stayed in place despite my sweaty ears! I kept my phone in a zippered pocket that was on my shirt, so the phone wasn’t far away from the receiver in the back of the headband. Unfortunately the music would cut in and out occasionally. Which come to find out can be caused if metal such as a zipper or keys is near it….the zipper on my shirt would explain that. I tried having the phone in a pocket that wasn’t near a zipper or metal on my next run and had no issues.
If a text came through I was able to hear the alert and also if a call came through I was able to push the center button on the receiver to answer and end the call.
Overall, I was impressed with the product! Here is a breakdown of my Pros/Cons!
- headband didn’t slip
- earbuds stayed in place
- can answer a call from your phone
- 3 tone sound to alert when battery is low
- can talk on phone via microphone on earbuds
- reasonably priced as far as wireless earbuds go at $59.99
- Also comes in a beanie as well
- machine washable
- no cord bouncing around! YEY!!!
- music would skip occasionally (due to a flaw with all bluetooth products in general, any metal near bluetooth technology i.e. keys, zipper, can cause skipping)
The 1 Voice Headband retails for $59.99 but they would like to extend a discount just for my readers!

Do you wear wireless earbuds?
Do you listen to music when you run?
* I was provided a 1 Voice headband for review but was not asked to give a positive review. As always, all opinions are my own*
