Favorite Mom Moments from last week!
Now you really get a look into the
crazy wonderful mom and kid moments that I had this week….guaranteed to either a) not be a surprise because you’ve been there and done that, OR b) it will be the best damn birth control you could ever have!
Favorite moment #1.
The first day of school for this little guy! Don’t get me wrong, I love this guy to death and want to embrace every
sleeping waking moment with him, but he is a 2 year old. And two year old are angels terrors. He needed some serious socialization time with people who get paid to deal with it. I get paid by getting to watch him develop into such an amazing person (and I feel like that even when he’s taking a dump on my kitchen rug….oh but wait, that’s another favorite mom moment.)
We weren’t excited AT.ALL. I even put on real clothes to celebrate the occasion and it also happened to be my birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Favorite Mom Moment #2:
Let me introduce you to Mr. & Mrs. Smith:
That’s right. These two lovebirds are nothing but trouble (see Favorite mom moment # for more). The are pretty much boyfriend and girlfriend. Mini #2 calls her “my girl”. Oh yea, it is so stinking cute when they aren’t terrorizing something. They were in the gym daycare last week and when myself and Mrs. Smith’s mom went in to get them they were trying to break into a storage closet. The daycare provider who has known them both since they were babies said, “Thank gosh you are back, get Mr. & Mrs. Smith out of here.”
Favorite Mom Moment #3:
Mini #2 did the grocery shopping for me! He was so thoughtful to remember the wine for me.
Favorite Mom Moment # 4:
Both kids are at school and I decided to go out and do a little window shopping. I can’t remember the last time I got to do that. I was finishing up and walking back to my car, and reached into my purse to grab my keys. This is what I grabbed and I even attempted to put it in the ignition until I realized it wasn’t keys. Where is the wine?
Favorite Mom Moment #5:
So many of the above involve Mini #2 because Mini #1 is at school full time now! So I decided to take him on a special date night. We went to see the Marvel Superhero Live show. So much fun. We put on our superhero shirts and had a fabulous time.
Favorite Mom Moment #6:
At the Race for Every Child this weekend I had signed the kids up for the kids race. They love getting to race like mommy. Mini #2 was ready for his 100 yard dash!! Mr. & Mrs. Smith got to race together on this one and took 1st and 2nd place respectively! He won first place in his age division! He is so much better than those 1 year olds that were running like frankenstein behind him! I mean the kid threw the competition down! Oh my, did I just say that? I am THAT mom that brags about her freaking TWO year old winning a 100 yard dash?! Hells ya and proud of it For those that don’t know me personally I hope my sarcasm is shining through. I WAS kind of excited for him though, I can not tell a lie!
Mrs. Smith took 1st female and 2nd overall! Ohhhhh yeaaaaaa. And in Toms for goodness sakes….who needs running shoes? Not this girl. A match made in heaven.
Favorite Mom Moment #7:
And you should be glad I don’t have photos to prove this one. We all know that running gets our bowels moving. It’s no secret to runners. And we aren’t ashamed to talk about it. It happens. Well, now that Mini #2 is a REAL runner (winning his 100 yard dash solidified that), we got home and he decided he wanted to go go #2 on potty. Halleluah. This kid needs to get out of diapers. He went up stairs with his dad, sat down on the toilet and went #2. He was so proud. His prize was an M&M. Yes, we bribe our kids with candy when we are potty training, WHATEVER.WORKS. Anyway, he came downstairs to retrieve his M&M from me. I hand him the M&M in the kitchen and he walks over to the kitchen table (diaperless I might add) and proceeds to FINISH taking his dump on the kitchen rug. Does he stop when he realizes what is happening? Oh hell no. Yep, that just happened.
Favorite Mom Moment #8:
This guy. With him being in school full time, he get’s a little jealous that I get to spend so much time with Mini #2 like I said before, so I try to have as many one on one moments that I can. He loves to help out with cooking, so we made pizzas together!
Favorite Mom Moment #9:
NO.WORDS. Clearly he will be the life of the party at the frat house in a few years.
Favorite Mom Moment #10:
No photo to prove this one either but I was babysitting Mrs. Smith while her mommy got a well deserved break to get her hair did. I had to go out to the garage to get something out of the freezer, so out I went. When I went to go back in, the door was locked. The Smith’s had locked me out. That’s right. 2 two-year olds locked me out of the house. Oh yea, after about 10 minutes of sheer panic, Mini #2 figured out to unlock the door and let me in. I’m lucky I didn’t get duct taped to the wall to be honest with Mr & Mrs Smith at the helm. I should have had a bottle of wine duct taped to both hands however, that would have helped a little!
Ahhh, yes. So there you have it. Crazy isn’t it? Yep, that’s my life on a daily basis. Despite all of my sarcasm and snarkiness, these kids are the light of my life, and even when they make me so mad, at the end of the day it’s still the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
What was YOUR favorite mom moment last week?
What would you have done had a 2 year old locked YOU out of the house?
Anyone have any potty training tips they want to share?
How many non-moms have I scared off?
