Did you ever have a pen pal when you were a kid? I remember having one very vividly and it was something I looked forward to all of the time….getting mail. Who doesn’t like getting mail that isn’t a bill or a piece of junk?! This girl right here! Last year I remember seeing something about a foodie pen pal thing, but didn’t really dig further into it. I came across it again last month and decided I wanted to give it a shot! I’m definitely a foodie and love to try new things, so I thought this would be really fun.
Basically you sign up over with Lindsay at the Lean Green Bean and she pairs you up with someone to become “pen pals” with. Now it’s not your typical pen pal that you would think of as a kid…this is the adult version! Once you get paired up you are to send the other person an email with all of your likes/dislikes when it comes to food. Then, you have a $15 budget to send the other person some fun food goodies! Now, you do NOT need a blog to participate at all, in fact there are lots that don’t have blogs. So this is accessible to everyone! And it was really fun, so go check it out!
I got paired up with a girl named Stephanie, who happens to blog at Steph Loves Cake. I thought it was fun that we shared a love of cake and coincidentally she used to live in DC and moved to CO….the opposite of what WE did 2 years ago! Crazy small world!
Anyway, this is what I got!
I am obsessed with Quinoa, so when I saw these I was so excited!! And they tasted amazing too!
Stephanie sent me some of her favorite protein powders! I’ve tried the About Time before, but the other two are new, so I’m looking forward to trying those out as well!
Boulder Granola, yummm…living in Colorado I had the opportunity to try this, so was excited to see it again! And the nutty rice bites came to work with me this weekend and were a great healthy sweet snack!
Currently obsessed with nut butters as well, so I’m really excited to try this new nut butter out!
Stephanie sent a nice note explaining why she picked out what she did and I think she pretty much nailed it with the exception of the PSL (I don’t like pumpkin, which I forgot to tell her…oops!) Oh well, I have some friends that love it so they will get a sweet surprise!
I can’t wait to do this again! It was a ton of fun! You should definitely try it out!
Has anyone participated in this?
What would you be excited about in the box I received?
What is your go-to snack?
